We think we’ve got some really good news that everyone should hear: God loves you and always will.

Yep, even when you screw up. Even when you might not be so sure you love God.

We receive the promise of God’s love and grace and mercy in the sacrament of Holy Baptism and again and again when we gather in worship and receive Holy Communion. We don’t earn it. We don’t buy it. We don’t deserve it. But God gives it to us anyway.

This free gift doesn’t make us perfect, but it does allow us to live with joy and hope, working for justice, peace, and the welfare of our neighbors. The free gift can be life changing for us and for the world.

Where do we get such ideas? From Martin Luther, whose insights sparked the 16th century Reformation, and from the teachings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
