Waukegan to College

W2C is an organization that St. Paul’s holds near and dear to its heart. We have supported this great organization since its start in 2009. This organization was founded to support students with year round college readiness services from tutoring, to support for college applications, to leadership training. They really help students succeed.

Leadership lab

One of the biggest events for the Waukegan to College (and St. Paul’s) youth, is the opportunity to attend Leadership Lab at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. For some of these teens, it is the first time away from home. The experience is one that helps the shy kids find their voice, the outgoing kid to harness the energy in positive ways, and to make life long connections. “Labbers” are supported through various fundraisers held through out the year.

Oktoberfest

This is one of the biggest fundraisers held each year to support Waukegan to College. The majority of the funds are geared towards sending students to Leadership Lab, with the remaining funds going to support the general operating budget.

College Shower

Each year, we hold a shower for Waukegan to College students who are graduating and moving on to college. Donations are collected to help with the supplies that these students will need on campus and in the dorms. Our Quilters also make beautiful quilts for these students to have a piece of home.
